Spider Words by Christine Anne Borra

Spider words upon the page
Creeping silent through the maze
You look and see them climbing out
You understand but then you doubt

The very old and spindly prose
Unformed thought, not quite disclosed
You look again and think you see
Spider words, not divinity

Dip again, if you think you ought
Are spiders creatures of great thought
And dip again, don't brush away
The spiders that you read today

Moments pass how do you feel
Did you reflect or will you steal
You ask yourself what did you glean
And ask again, what spiders mean
